Default Recent destinations

I am running TomTom Nav 5 on a Mio168 and it works perfectly apart from when I close TomTom down all my recently used destinations and home etc. are dumped. It keeps them if I just turn off the PDA and leave TT running in the background but this is not practical as I also need to run software for navigation whilst flying and they cannot share the GPS port. Is there a option to save settings somewhere on exit anywhere or does anyone know of a way I can work round this? Would be grateful for any help.

Cheers

I also have the same problem, all favourites and home settings are lost when I shut down Tom Tom, they are saved and kept during the session ok. I have tried re-installing but still no joy. Does anybody have any ideas what to check ? I am using a IPAQ HX4700

Hi just found the answer in a previous post which solved my problem. thanks fas3robinj ! he wrote....

I had the same problem. It was because the Great-Britain.cfg file in the 'Great-Britain-Map' folder on the SD card had somehow become set to read only.

I fixed the problem by syncing my Ipaq, and then using the 'Explore' button in Activesync to find the file. I then copy it to my desktop on the PC. Right clicked on it and unset the read only attribute, in properties, before copying it back to the SD card.

Discovered this as well so all happy now. Another way round it is to just delete the file which will be re-created correctly next time TomTom runs. Saves messing about with ActiveSync.
