TomTom 5 Upgrade PocketPC to Palm

I have an old copy of TomTom 2 on an IPAQ 3650, and am considering a long overdue upgrade of PDA. I would like to switch to Palm (T5), and continue to use TomTom.

Can I upgrade to TomTom 5 from iPaq to T5, and is it worth skipping TomTom version to TomTom 5 at the minute?

All advice appreciated.
