Does anyone have TT5 upgrade working with wired GPS on Palm T3?

I was about to order the upgrade but found conflicting information about compatibility on the TomTom website:

Under the TomTom Navigator 5 wired GPS - compatibility list there is no mention of any Palm device, however under TomTom Navigator 5 Software & Maps of Western Europe - compatibility list the T3 is listed.

TomTom support (as usual) have been wholly unhelpful by pointing me back at the compatibility lists instead of actually answering the question as to whether TT5 will work on a T3 with a wired TomTom GPS receiver.

Does anyone have this combination working, and if so are there any serious problems???
