I have been trying to upgrade to TT5 with no sucess getting my M1000 to speak to my Holux GPSlim236. the main reason is to use the California maps while on holiday.

I thought about trying to get the TT5 maps to work with TT3 and I have been sucess full with the nevada map but can get the California map to work, TT3 just closes when I try to switch the map, doe anyone have any sugestions?

Thanks
John

Trevor et al,

The easiest is this:

Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. Browse to the nveurX folder (where X is the number of the disc), then maps, then the folder you are interested in.

Disc 1: GB, GB+, Benelux, Benelux+, Scandinavia, NL Postcode and GB Postcode.
Disc 2: Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia+
Disc 3: Germany, Germany - Austria - Switzerland - Poland - Czech Repub +
Disc 4: France, France+
Disc 5: Italy, Italy+
Disc 6: Spain, Spain+

In each of the respective folders you find a series of CAB files and an INI file explaining what each file is. You can open and extract the appropriate files from the CAB files using WinZip or Windows XP, and name them correctly as per the INI file. The files are even numbered in the INI file for your convenience.

As long as the folder on your CF or SD card is correct, TTN3 should see the map and know what's in it.

Stefan

if there are no secondary folders listed in the GB file the software might be faulty re-run the install if you have the same problem get in contact with TOMTOM on 0845161009 keep trying because it will take ages to get through, if you can speak to a Neil and after some messing around which will not work (belive me I have tried) they will send out some disks make sure you get the repair number otherwise you will be ringing back up and going through the whole thing again
hope this helps
