Lightbulb TOMTOM 5 & NEW CheckPoint 5 Release 02.08.05, Read NOW!!!

Hi all, i just thought i'd share it with all of you who are have some sort of POI problem!!!

CheckPoint have just released the NEW CheckPoint 5.0!!!! which is intended to integrate with Tomtom Navigator 5.

As most of you who have used the CheckPoint 3.2 will probably agree that its was a sound software to use with Tomtom Nav 3.

i Assume the new CheckPoint 5 will be the same with Tomtom Nav5

You can download the CheckPoint 5.0 from here:
http://checkpoint.oabsoftware.nl/

Pls note that CheckPoint say that this version of software is only compatible with Pocket PC 2002/Windows Mobile 2003 using ARM and XSCALE processors.

post me a reply if you find it useful or have any problems. i've downloaded it, will be loading it in the next few days

Installed the software and works simalr to the previou version,

better menus but there appears to be a lot of flicker on the the side bar and on the top warning block, however there is the option to turn these of and just have the audible alert.

Downloaded this yesterday; it installed with no problems but I can't get it to synch the POIs. Getting "unknown error" whenever I try to synch - cookies are enabled on my PDA browser and the only other cause they give on their website is related to congestion of the server - but I've been trying periodically since yesterday and get the same thing every time. Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this?! Cheers

I upgraded from CheckPoint 3.2 to CheckPoint 5 on my Ipaq 1940 and caused all sorts of problems. Everytime TomTom5 started the whole PDA just hung. I ended up yesterday having to do a hard reset & have now had to start from scratch re-installing everything - certainly wouldn't recommend installing this

I am experiencing a similar problem when trying to synchronize - I get a message 'CheckPOInt could not connect to the POIplace website'. This is for both Synch and Refresh.

Within the settings folder the 'Synchronization settings' is disabled.

Am new to all this and any help would be appreciated.

You must NOT have Tom tom running when you try to sync. Just use checkpoint and you will not get the error

Has anybody found a way of getting CheckPOInt v5.x to autostart TomTom Navigator as you could in the v3.x releases?

Cheers,

Steve.
