Default Anyone with the new TomTom BT GPS?

Hey,

Can someone who had the MKI TomTom BT GPS receiver and who has upgraded to the new one please tell me whether the new one is a lot, lo better and worth upgrading to? Or whether it's not really worth it....

TIA

HI Pen,

I have to admit I think the new MK2 Tom Tom BT receiver is a lot better then MK1

I was happy with MK1 but did find it took a good few minutes to lock on to a signal and get a fix the new one is a lot quicker and is normally ready to go before I have even started the car !

I have also noticed that it manages to keep a lock when you go through hilly areas or under heavy tree cover.

I have done a lot of travelling around wales in the last few years and the MK1 did lose lock a number of times on each trip and I would have to wait a good few minutes before the lock was again achieved. with the MK2 its only lost a lock once and then for only 10-15 seconds.

the MK2 also seems to have a longer battery life as its lasted 3 or 4 days of driving before the warning light came on where as the MK1 would only last 1 or 2 days at most.

Pete

great thanks for the reply.

I guess I'll just upgrade my gps then rather than the whole kaboodle...
