Problems with TomTom 5

I have tomtom 5.0 running on an orange m1000 spv mobile phone.
The software runs but it cannot find the gps signal from the bluetooth gps reciever, a leadtek 9537.
The gps receiver is correctly bonded with the device because you can see it communicating on the gps 3.07 sub program.
The problem i have is when tomtom 5 is running it seems to use a seperate gps program and when you go to configure the application to use a third party gps receiver the bluetooth option isn't listed.
I wonder if anyone else had come across this problem and wonder if they had come across a solution.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated
