Angry TOM TOM faulty software(tomtom admits)

I have just been in contact with TOMTOM after spending 2 hours and formating the SD card and a hard reset and then re-installing the software again!

TOMTOM have admitted that a faulty batch of disks have been sent out, the problem is associated with the map files when you transfer these to the SD card , the software reads at 111meg but on screen you get a message showing 102meg been transfered the software is faulty

the problems that will occur is that you will get a message 'no usable location near GPS or no usable location near cursor' you cannot plan a route or no route will be shown. (this means that the SOFTWARE IS FAULTY)

you have to very patient with these people they are very slow at answering the call, but they will send you out brand new disks once you do get through

you have been warned !!

TOMTOM are also applying a patch as well to the software very shortly, I have identified that with some GPS devices (rikaline 6010) you see a GPS fix, but the software loses the signal for no apparent reason, TOMTOM admits that they have rushed this through without checking the various models and hopefully get things right next time (Yer right)

Hi,

I seem to be having the same problem

'no usable location near GPS or no usable location near cursor'

How do i contact them. I was not able to find any phone number to contact them. Any help and guidance is much appreciated.

Regards

You could always try emailing them (they do take a while to respond tho).

Go to the tomtom website. Click on support. Read a question and at the bottom it gives you an option to email the product support team.
