Default Tom Tom 5 With XDA problem.HELP PLZ RECEIVER NOT DETECTED

HI,

i have the O2 xda installed with tom tom 5, i also have a wired gps reciever the problem is the tom tom does not detect the reciver, the thing is that when i ordered the gps receiver i asked for the wire for the xda but they sent the wire for xda 2 could this make a difference,i didnt think it would because they are similar, anyway i also heard somwhere somthing about wating 30-60 minutes to recieve the signal.also could some one tell me which port i must select(although i have tried all of them)plz help i really need this thing up and running asap.

Thank You

The connection is exactly the same...i have xda2 - son has xda 1 both work!

The port setting is usually COM1.
Did you turn off START>SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS>BEAM???
If the tick box is ticked IT WILL NOT WORK!
Also a good habit to adopt is to START>SETTING>SYSTEM>MEMORY>RUNNING PROGRAMS>STOP ALL.

One last thing....be patient- mine used to take sometimes nearly five minute to connect especially if it was raining / cloudy . first thing in the morning.
