Angry Be careful I was ripped off when upgrading fromTT3 to TT5

All
As a follow up on my previous threads where I was asking users if they could send me a copy of the postcode zip file as mine was corrupt, I have an update for all purchasers. DO NOT USE www.everythingsat.com as they do not respond to your emails or calls when things go wrong!

I have just tried accessing thier website and guess what?? They no longer exist! Perhaps I need a proper copy of TT5 to find them again (but not an SD card version)!!!

Many thanks to all those of you that have tried to help me out and in particular thanks to Lupos0_1 for his invaluable assistance

Happy and safe journeys to you all

Kindest regards
RobM2208

It did sound as though you didn't get the typical upgrade pack.

Did you get the file I sent you?

Cheers,

Steve.

I think we can all relate to Robs situation as I know I have been conned in the past. Best try and find somebody that you know has purchased an item from the said company before you part with your hard earned.

Hope all is well and if you need any more help, do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards

Dennis

Thats the thing tho Stevie, Rob paid £95 for the tomtom upgrade and all he got was a SD Card. Not exactly cheaper is it?

Yeah, still not sure why he just didn't go to TomTom where I think the upgrade costs €68 which is about £46 - about half of what Rob paid, although TomTom perhaps aren't the quickest at fulfilling the order.

If Rob can check out with TomTom the status of his license - it may be possible to persuade them to send him some CD media with the upgrade on it. The real issue might be what the status might be if what he was sent wasn't a pukka copy.

If the SD card looked like an original TomTom product, then I think it's possible that he's been sent a card that has been separated from a Card+Receiver bundle, and so he hasn't received an upgrade, but a full stand-alone copy - they might have sold the GPS receiver on its own and could potentially make more money by selling the items separately.

If it didn't look like a TomTom card, then I guess there's a fair chance it's counterfeit - although it sounds as though all the activation codes check out, so that's probably not the case.

Cheers,

Steve.
