Unhappy HELP: GPS Position delayed 10sec

Hi!
I've installed TT5 on a Toshiba e740, and I had no problem connecting to the Polstar Bluetooth GPS receiver using the "cable" solution.

But when i start to navigate the TT5 shows me the position were I was 10seconds ago, and not the present one.

Do you know what's happening? Before I had TT3 with the same configuration and zero problems to report...

I've noticed that e740 is not on the compatibility list, although e800 is also missing and supports TT5...

Please help me!
I'm scared just thinking i will lose my money on an uncompatible software...

Cheers,
A2day

Have you tried the update (v5.1)??? It's available from the tomtom website.

Also, you could try disabling all of the POI's. This has worked for other people in the past. If you have the speed cams on, ensure that you select the option to warn when near them, then even though you have disabled them, they will still pop up and you will still get the warning.

Yes, I've tried, but everytime I start TOMTOM its starts rebooting... so the upgrade doesn't bring any improvement!

But I will test without POI....
It's strange how a simple thing like POI loads the processor.... (if its that the cause for my problem...)

Thanks.
If anyone has other idea, please post.

Cheers,
A2day

Hi...does that apply to all POIs? Disable the lot and just put the warnings on ?? If that's correct , I don't know why I bother to have them showing.

I've tried to disable the POI.... but still no change.... 10secs delayed, accurate, but delayed!

No back to my old TT3 until I sort this out....

Any more ideas?

As has been mentioned in another forum - technically, TT5 isn't supported on any Toshiba PDA (although it seems to work fine on my E800), but I think you said you are running on WM2000 - so I think there is a fair chance that you can expect incompatibilities.

My suggestion would be to try a different GPS connection method - I know you are using "cable" with a Bluetooth GPS (and that is normally better than using the TT5 Bluetooth stack), but you might want to try that, or maybe see if you can borrow a proper cabled GPS and see if that makes any difference.

Cheers,

Steve.
