Hi there, welcome to the forum.
Before you post a thread, it may be worthwhile to use the search option (located at the top), if your question has been posted before, you should be able to get an answer straight away.

Check out this thread and I hope that the same applies to you:

Good luck and let me know how you get on.

hi and thanks for the info, ive looked at this file and there is not a tick in the read only box only a tick in the archive one, is this right or have i missed something, it dont happen all of the time just sometimes ive switched it on this morning and its fine???.

Also i have done a search on this question but not found anything,

i purchased a car charger on e-bay but when i use it with tomtom , after about 30 mins the pda has been drained of power down to about 10% it would seem that the power going in is not enough , is there different types of chargers that allow more charge to go in or do i have some other problem???
Cheers

Tony

It may be that you have been conned on ebay. I know that there are a lot of counterfit goods being passed of as original or compatible and I would not recommend using it. If you go into your settings menu on the PDA and then tap on the power option, make sure that everything is okay there (I can't see that being a problem tho).

With your favourites, home and POI's I am also lost. If it is not the read only attribute, then the only thing I can suggest is to try and re-install the software from the CD pack.

I had a similar problem and found this solution on this site

"With TomTom closed use file explorer to naviagate to the GB map folder and delete the file 'Great-Britain-Map.cfg'. Run Tom Tom and all should be well. The reason for this fault is the cfg file picks up a read only attrib from somewhere so no changes are saved. Deleting it forces TomTom to re-create it correctly."

It worked for me.
