Default types of tom tom

I have just bought tomtom5 and it came on a 128 sd card.
My friend has upgraded from 3 to 5 and his UK ap alone is 200+mb.

Whats the difference between the two, i mean i paid £125.00 and he paid £25.00 for his upgrade. Is his a better version/details than mine or are they the same

The tomtom5 on the SD card is Great-Britain Map's, the upgrade comes with

Great-Britain
Great-Britain Plus (Great Britian plus major roads of Europe)
France
Spain
Benelux
Germany
etc.

The upgrade is deffinatly a better option if you already have TomTom3

Your right about it being the better option but unfortunatley this was my first purchase, still.

I want to put the french map on my version but cannot find any info on the TT web site. I friend loaned me the french map as he does not use it but i cannot activate it on my version.

Is it me or is the TT web site particulary un-user friendly, you cannot get to 'contact' them even when you follow the links !!!

This must be 'customer satisfation' and i don't think !!, just about the worse site i have ever used .

At present it appears that you can only by france as part of the eurpoean maps.

Have a look at http://www.tomtom.com/products/produ...109&Language=1

either that or can you "Upgrade" your version to
