Angry TT5, maps and activation code

I recently aquired a new map from the internet which asks me for an activation code before i can use it with TT5. I entered the original coda that came with TT, it did not accept it.
I contacted TT support and by entering my original product code received the activation code that i had which will not work.
Contacted TT support again and they insist the code i have is the correct one.

TT appear hopeless at client management and have left me very frustrated.

Can anyone help with how i can activate.

DVD bought on e-bay with a number of maps on it. All of them ask for a code, i have been back to the seller who informs me that the dvd maps do not need an activation code and that he has not had any similar complaints.

hi there, i got tt5, and asked me for activation, on the dvd there should be a readme file, that you have to follow to a tee, cos usually you have to move and overwrite certain files within the map directory in order for it to work.

usually the ones of ebay are cracked, so you have to overwrite the main .exe file with another one supplied on the dvd. thats what i had to do, then it was activated.

only problem is if you download an update from the internet, or tomtoms website, then you get the same problem all over again...

The DVD you bought from ebay is copyrighted and will definitely be a pirate copy. You stated that TT appear hopeless at client management and have left you very frustrated. Do you really expect tomtom to help you if you are trying to get bootlegged software to work with their programmes?????

I wonder if Microsoft would entertain this for example. Your lucky that they are not trying to prosecute you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your assumptions are incorrect, the dvd was not aquired as bootleg software but as maps for tt5.

If the maps are not pirate copies, then you should have the activation codes for them shouldn't you?
