Default Blue Light and Bluetooth Connection

I seem to have a problem that others have had - bluetooth connection no longer works. Tried the discharge battery and recharge but no luck.

Other posts suggest this is a recurring fault - TomTom are denying this and because I'm outside of their warranty, will not replace.

Any other experiences or suggestions?

Welcome to our forums.
I wouldn’t say it’s a recurring fault, admittedly it does happen, but with the amount of units that have been sold only a small percentage suffer this type of failure.

I would have hoped that they would have taken a more reasonable approach (and been easier to contact!) give the fault is nothing to do with user error - in fact a few months after buying the kit, I had a new car with sat nav in so it's not as though it's been used a lot.

I'd still be interested in any others who know of what must be a recurring fault if it happens from time to time . . . . .

Angry Confidence inspiring?

I just want to say that I have had the Tomtom Bluetooth for a shade over a year. It just decided to conk out a month ago while I was driving. I tried the discharge/charge routine, hard reset of my iPAQ 5550, re-install of Navigator 3. No joy!

From some other fora, I got the impression that there is a 2yr warranty and that Tomtom would replace the receiver with a new Sirf receiver. It was hard enough finding the email link on the support site. My email hasn't been replied to yet and it is over a couple of weeks. A friend of mine managed to get me the no. for support. Guess what! For 5 days, no que system on the phone. Just a mesage to call back later. Finally, yesterday, I managed to get a queue and then an adviser.

I was informed that since I was in the UK, the warranty was just for a year. I would have to pay a sum of 50 euro to get it repaired/replaced with a refurbished unit. Upon asking, I was told that the replacement would not be the new Sirf unit, which apparently has less failure rate.

The icing on the cake? When I informed the the lady I spoke to that I had found numerous instances on discussion boards of the bluetooth receivers having unacceptable failure rates, I was very told in a very patronising way, `It is an electronic device and you've had it for over a year, and a small no. of electronics devices may develop faults at some point.' For a solid state device???!

It was nice to know that Tomtom has such confidence in it's products and in electronic devices in general!
