Unhappy HELP! BT audio & tomtom

Hi,

I have an ipaq h6340 with BT GPS & a Bluetrek G2 headset. I'm running TomTom Nav 5.

All this works just great except for one glitch which is really annoying.

If TT doesn't say anything for 30 seconds or so, the audio connection gets disconnected (some sort of timeout). Next time TT speaks, the connection re-establishes but this takes 2-3 seconds, during which time most of the incoming message is lost - not much help if you're trying to figure out whether the junction your approaching is the right one. I can't use the system without the BT headset as the audio on my h6340 is just to quiet to be heard over the engine noise.

What i'm looking for is some way to prevent this timeout from occurring - i appreciate this is likely to have a somewhat detrimental effect on battery life.

Hope someone on here can help

Fyi - I found a Work-around for this issue.

I created an MP3 of Nothing 10 seconds long (use a low bit rate to reduce processor load)

I loaded this into media player & Set it to repeat.

this keeps the audio channel open & prevents me from missing those all important instructions

Hope this helps somebody else too!
