Default TTN5 - exe error

Hi got TTN5 in July but only installed in today as I have been in no hurry and have seen that some of you have had some problems, anyway updated to 5.1 right away. Problem is:

Every time I open up the PDA (Ipaq rx3715) I get the following message:
- CAN NOT EXECUTE 'windows/ttgpseng.exe'
I just ignore and the PDA runs OK, starting up TTN5 is a bit slow but gets going eventually, runs fine, much smoother than TTN3 so I happy but need to sort the 'exe' problem. Is this a case of a bad batch of CD (read about it somwhere else on the forum a few weeks ago but can not find it...) or can anyone recommend a fix.

I would recommend that you:

1) Check your Rom Image on your iPAQ and make sure your up to date.

2) Do a soft reset on the PDA and run tomtom.

Thanks Steve, I'd half expected that and had a look at it in the past but to be honest this update 'freaks me' a bit and I am a bit nervous about how to do it properly. TomTom support came back with this answer and it seems to work. The bit about uninstalling TTN3 was nwe to me, can not see anything in the upgrade pack pinting this out. Anyway, problem is now away.

The reason for this is that you did not uninstall the Navigator 3 before installing Navigator 5.

Try the following:

Download and install:

http://www.tomtom.com/updates/gpsupg307.zip

Now softreset the PDA and remove TomTom GPS from remove programs, softreset again and the problem should be resolved. If not please uninstall all TomTom and Navigator software from the PDA and only install the Navigator 5 software.

With best regards,

The TomTom Customer Support Team
