| | | Tomtom 5, VERY low sound volume I am running Tomtom 5 on a Dell Axim X5 (Pocet PC 2003) on a CF GPS - both maps and instructions work perfectly, but I have problems with the sound.
Before starting Tomtom, I set the sound volume in PPC2003 to "loud", but as soon as the Tomtom starts, the volume becomes *very* low and impossible to hear when driving (yes, sound volume is set to 100% in Tomtom and have tried both options in "link volume to car speed").
If I exit the application the volume in all other applications is kept *very* low, regardless of the volume settings in PPC 2003....only solution is a soft reset, then sound is OK in PPC 2003....but trouble starts again as soon as I start the Tomtom application.
- any suggestions or folks with similar problems? |

| | | NOt had a problem like this, but what volume have you got TomTom set to? If you tap the bottom of the screen when TomTom is running, it gives you a slider control for the volume... SORRY! Just re-read your post and you say it is set to 100%!! |

| | Welcome to our forums.
I've not come across this problem either but have you got the v5.1 update for TomTom installed? Not sure if it will help but it's something to try. |

| | | Thanks for the qucik replies - great forum...
Yes, I have tried the 5.1 update, but the problem resists...think I will have do to a hard reset and re-install my software one by one to see if it helps...
- had hoped other users had the same problem and knew that whate to do |

| | | - did a hard reset and installed Tomtom 5 as the only software on my Axim X5. Now the sound is back...but jerky.
Guess I will have to live with it, eventhough I didn't had the problem using TT3 |

| | | Tom Tom 5 sound Thhis may not be your problem but I have noticed that if the battery on the PDA gets low the Tom Tom sound volume will get very quiet.
Once the AC adapter is plugged in the sound volume returns to normal.

| | | Have you updated the audio driver from the Dell website?
I had the same issue with my X5 and removing the updated audio driver solved the problem. |

| | | Thanks Bluehagon,
I had the Audio update installed - tried to remove it (how can you tell if it is there or not?)....but the problem is still there; the voice is jerky.
Tried a hard reset on my Axim X5 again and only installed TomTom5...but the same problem......maps are all fine, it is "just" the sound where I have problems... |

Peter | I know this post is old now, but I get this problem on my X5 with TT5, I have recently done a hard reset because my wired GPS stopped working. Now using a CF GPS, but the sound is Very Low and the volume of the Camera voices is lower than the directions, when the volume is normal, which it is sometimes!. Did anybody cure this sound problem and/or know why the camera warnings are lower in volume? |

| | This happens on my X5 if I leave TT running when I shut down the PDA. If I shut TT down each time I power off the PDA it never happens.
Are you leaving TT running and powering off and restarting the PDA??? (ie stopping at motorway services for a few minutes)
When it does happen, do a soft reset to get everything back to normal. | |
