Traffic 'Free Trial' offer.

I have never tried the Traffic 'Free Trial' option/offer and thought that I would give it a go. For anybody who has tried it, can you tell me :
1 Can you choose any of the options shown, ie the maps as well ?
2 Both the traffic and maps options seemed to want payment up front when I tried and I am loath to go all the way to check out, to find that my credit card has indeed been hit....without the trial.
