Post Major TT3 and Dell Axim x30 problems - HELP!

Dell Axim x30, with TomTom3.

Recently started getting error message "Cannot execute \windows\ttgpseng.exe" followed by "cannot execute \windows\misc.exe".

On another thread on this site I saw a possible fix, using a little program called "Check_notifications". I downloaded this onto my PC, and then tried to upload it via Bluetooth. For whatever reason the PC couldn't find the Axim, despite 3 attempts, and yes the Bluetooth dongle was in the USB port of the PC OK and it can find other BT devices.

I then tried using the synch manager - it brings up error mesage "cannot execute repllog.exe" and "cannot execute connmgr.exe". This happens using both the Axim cradle and the Lil' Synch Pro connector.

When I try to access certain utilities in the settings menu, a few work but most just come back with an error message.

As things stand, I cannot get any device to communicate succeessfully with the Axim, so not only can I not apply the possible fix mentioned below, I can't reinstall the TT3 software or the Windows Mobile software if needed, or at least I don't know of a way.

Any solutions will be gratefully received. Help!

What changes had you made on the PDA (poss new software, removing software/files) prior to the issues?

Have you tried a soft reset?

Hi thanks for the reply. No, I haven't loaded any software or changed any settings, other than I changed which of the 7 programs are displayed on the start drop down menu. Not sure how significant that is.

No, I haven't tried a soft reboot as I wanted to sound out opinion here. I'll give that a try tonight and post the result. Many thanks for helping!
