Default TT5 Postcodes...again.

I rarely have need to input using the post code only, but, tonight, sitting comfortably in front of the fire, I thought that I would input tomorrows journey using the post code option....even though I know the address.
So, I selected the 'advanced journey' option, from home to the pc option and I input the complete 7 digit code....no spaces....but then it just sits then staring at me, seeming to want me to then select a town/street etc. I was expecting it to show the map and start it's usual calculations, but no. So where have I gone wrong...(and I have a seperate tomtom folder in the root of the storage card). Thanks.

Do you have the extra postcode option loaded on your PDA?

When you start typing the postcode, does it show a list of 7 digit pc's, or just 4 digit pc's? If the later, either the postcode files are missing of corrupted and need reloading.

If it's TT Navigator 5, then choose "navigate to" and select "postcode". Enter the full postcode and select "done" to calculate route.

Thanks to both of you.....you're right, albeit I can key in 7 digits, the list that pops up only shows 4 + streets/towns etc. I certainly cannot key in the 7 and hit 'done' as there's no 'done' to hit ! Tell me, do I have to go through the time consuming hassle of downloading/reinstalling from the TT5 install CD, or is there a quicker way? If it's the CD route, are there any short cuts or is it 'do as it says' ?

Just Install the Postcode zip folder, it will be quicker if you have a card reader rather than activesync.

Are you using Advanced then going to page 2 for the PostCode Search or staying on page 1 and entering the post code? The latter will not work.

Thanks one and all...turned out that for some reason (?), the file was corrupted....had to determine which CD the post code file was on, (as the old memory is failing) It is on CD 1 and was dead easy to reinstall again....I've put it back on to the SD card with no apparent problems...(sitting here in front of the log fire again!) Thanks again. Mike.
