I think in practice the answer is yes, but I'm not sure about the copyright angle. The reason I say yes is that initially I had problems with my SD slot and a neighbour copied the software onto a CF card which worked. I entered the code numbers etc which gave me an activation code over the internet.
After having the SD slot repaired I had to re install TTN5. I sued the original codes but got a message that those numbers were already in use. When I input the new device code given the second time I was given a new activation code which worked fine. In theory this could have been installed on a new machine, unless the device codes are recognisable.
