Default European Maps with TomTom5

I have an iPaq2210 with TomTom5 (upgraded from TT3) and therefore have all the european maps included.

We are currently planning to spend several days each in Rome, Venice and Paris during the summer - does anyone know how good TomTom would be for doing "touristy" things? (We will, in general, be walking or using public transport... although I suppose I should add that we will be flying to the three cities!).

Would I be able to walk round with the GPS receiver in my pocket (it's bluetooth) or does it need to be visible for the satellites to pick it up?

Any help/guidance/advice wil lbe gratefully received!!

It should work your pocket and there is an option for pedestrian routes.
