Tom Tom/ poi warner problems

Im sure the problem I have has been on this forum before, but as I have just joined I hope you will bear with me.
I have Tom Tom v installed on a wired toshiba 350 pda, which I have had since Tom Tom launch about 3 years ago. Have always run it in sync with poi warner with no problems, even through the many upgrades - up until now.
Since installing the 5 upgrade I noticed on one of the menu screens the option to use poi-warner direct from tom tom, this option then seemed to 'dissappear'?
In a panic I downloaded checkpoint for the cams. Now when I run poi warner seperatly in sync, although the bar is shown on the r/h side of the screen, I am not sure if it is poi warner or checkpoint that is detecting cam positions- (I am only updating poi-warner)
How can I get Poi warner to appear on the Tom Tom menu as before?
Any advice would be welcome.

Is there a newer version of the software for TT5? Many apps have been updated, as TT5 is different on the SDK side - which is why the likes of Checkpoint have dedicated versions for TT5.
