Unhappy xda IIs freezes with tomtom nav 5

Hi,

I recently purchased tomtom nav 5 from www.totalpda.co.uk for use with my xda IIs.
It installed without any problems. However every so often (eg every hour or so, whilst navigating a route), the screen freezes when using tomtom and the pda crashes, which needs a soft reset (this isn't the safest thing to do whilst driving).

Any idea what could be wrong?

I've tried disconnecting my phone and blackberry whilst using tomtom but this doesn't help.

The xda seems to work ok when I'm not using tomtom.

Do I need a software upgrade of some kind.

When you plan a route, on the right where the sat signal is, you'll see the version number.

If it's not 5.21, upgrade to the latest version at www.tomtom.com

Thanks getsurfers, but I've checked and I'm already on 5.21.

Are you using the latest ROM version for your XDA?

Also is the TT installed on SD or device mem? IIRC there was a fix posted at www.pocketgps.co.uk on their forums, as quite a few XDAs owners have had issues with TT5.
