Default TomTom City Map downloads

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this query!

I've got TomTom5 with all the European maps. In August I will be spending a week in Rome and so have loaded the Italian map onto my iPAQ - but then thought about the downloadable City Maps off the TomTom website - are these maps any different to what I will already have?

The maps are essentially lifted from the full area, so should be pretty much the same.

I'd stick with the maps on your CD. Oh and avoid driving in Rome unless you're suicidal!

Thanks for that - and the advice - I'd already decided that I wouldn't be driving though!

I've spoken to TomTom about this before - wondering whether the City Map of London would have any more information than the Navigator package. They informed me that the information is exaclty the same.

Problem is that they split the maps down into chunks, so to cover most cities it's cheaper to buy the whole map region!
