Problems with TomTom5

i copied the entire tomtom 5 folder onto my SD card and then as instructed in the sticky clicked on all cab files and installed the application from the 2257 folder.
on clicking the tomtom icon i go through a set up screen and then a warning screen comes up but on pressing ok i get a NO MAPS FOUND screen with an option to download maps or cancel .
i downloaded and ran the updated patch from the tomtom website but still i get the same message! my maps are all under the \sd card\tomtom\ xxxmap name folders. whats wrong???
