Setting a starting position on TT map without GPS attached Hello All,
Been a happy user of TT3 with a wired GPS for ages. Upgraded to TT5 recently and noticed several improvements but miss one particular element that I used on TT3.
I used to be able to browse map, click cursor on a position, and then select to use that position as a starting location. I could then click on my destination on the map and TT would go ahead and program a route without having my GPS attached.
Now, I can't specify a start position on a map and I also can't plan a route to a destination without having my GPS attached or I get "Waiting for a valid GPS signal" appear and I can't plan the route until I go to the car and plug my GPS and PC into the cigarette lighter.
Also, because of not being able to set a start position, I can't plan a route on a foreign map without being in that country with the GPS switched on or I get "Not a valid GPS signal" appear or "No valid GPS signal near this location". Therefore, I can't plan my routes and itinery in advance before arriving in France.
Anybody any ideas on how I might circumvent this new "improvement" to the TT software?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
