Default TomTom slow and jumpy

Recently I transfered my TomTom software from a 256 card to a 1gb card, I have now tried to use TomTom and the map is not moving, it is jumpy and seems to freeze. Also the voice will say " AT THE NEXT.......(silence 15 seconds).........TAKE THE SECOND TURN.

it also seems to lose the satelitte signal ocasionaly for 5-10 seconds (the screen goes grey)

should the programme be on the PDA or storage card.
It seems like there is a lack of memory BUT it worked ok before.

Any help please?

Make sure it has not enabled too many poi files, this can cause an issue, also re-format the card in the pda and then copy the files back, also make sure you have view all files set to on.
