Default TomTom 2210 Car Kit

At weekend I realised that the TomTom Car Kit for my 2210 was no longer charging either the 2210 or the bt receiver - and of course the battery on the receiver "died" at THE most inopportune moment (Leaving Roundhay Park after watching Robbie Williams - heading for the hotel which I had carefully programmed in... with the email confirming the booking left on the dining table at home! )

I am reasonably confident that it is a problem with the cable connecting the cradle to the car - is there anywhere I can get a replacement cable?

Have you checked the fuse?

The cable is simlply there to provide 12v from the car to the cradle so anything else that fits should be OK as long as its not regulated or anything.

Wow! That was quick!

The car 12v socket works for other things - and the cable going into the cradle is a small telephone-type (RJ11?) plug rather than a standard jack-type

The RJ11 cable simply transfers 5V from the cradle to the receiver however the main power cable (or the cradle itself) is whats at fault if the PDA isn't charging either. I'm sure your socket is fine as you've indicated however there is a fuse in the plug that goes into that socket. Unscrew the silver collar on the tip of it and you'll find a glass fuse inside.
