Default TomTom Navigator 6 and Vodafone 1605

Please help!!!

I have just upgraded from a very basic Nokia phone to an all-singing & dancing Vodafone 1605.

I am trying to install TomTom Navigator 6 with a bluetooth receiver. I am using the supplied software dvd (as the phone doesn't take the Mini SD card supplied). I seem to have installed it onto the PC ok & TomTom home recognises the phone (once I installed Activesync). I seem to have been able to copy the voices & maps onto the phone but I can't find any way to install the actual tomtom application to the phone....

I am sure this is very basic but I'd really appreciate some help.

thanks

Is tomtom v6 compatible with the nokia 1605?
You might have to use version 5.21 until its compatible, v5.21 was compatible with most s60 phones i believe.

I thought the Vodafone 1605 had a Mini SD slot? I'm pretty sure it does.

Have you managed to get this working yet? I'm very interested in buying a v1605 + tomtom6 but can't find out if the two are compatible anywhere!

Hi Tom Goodacre. I have TT6 running on my V1605 with no problems at all. I purchased the DVD version with all Europe as the V1605 has a MICRO slot. The installation went smoothly with TT Home loading on to the PC and then I could choose which countries and voices to add to the V1605. I have a 1Gb Micro card, which has to be taken out and re-inserted after the TT6 program has been copied to the card to allow for installation into main memory. Plenty of prompts along the way, so not difficult to install. The only thing I have been unable to get working is the pre-installed speed cameras, so I downloaded the speed camera database from Pocket GPS and these are working fine. I do find though that you have to be patient and wait for a valid GPS signal to be recognised. If you do get a problem with the PPC hanging then give the "Windows" key a little flick and this seems to help it to recover from the hang.

I have the HTC Tytn version of this phone and it works fine with tomtom 6. The advice below is spot on I would also close all running programs before starting tomtom.

Thanks for the comments.

I got it working by copying from the supplied Micro SD to a PC and then back again onto the phone. After some messing around with CAB files and map locations it then worked ok but I think it would be a lot simpler to get the DVD version as mentioned above.
