IPAQ 5550 + TomTom Navigator 6

I was just about to buy a latest map for my IPAQ 5550 with TomTom Navigator 5 when I saw that they are offering a free upgrade to Navigator 6. My ipaq is not on the list of compatible devices but I'm wondering if this is strictly true. Does anyone have experience of this working for them?

Users on PGPSW say it works fine.

Someone on another forum seemed to think that the way upgrade works is that if your PDA can handle nav 6 it will use that and the new maps. If your pda can't handle it only the maps will be upgraded.
