Default TT OneV3 Europe

My new device seems to be different every time I switch it on. I changed the shut down screen to my own image and it worked for a couple of days but not now, despite it showing in home as the image available on the device. I just get the tom tom start up screen now when I switch off. Also I no longer can get the red speed warning beside the speed limit, I just get the speed I am traveling at. Any suggestions ?

For the shutdown splash screen go to Change Preferences/ Safety Preferences and make sure "Warn not to leave the device in the car"
For the speed limit information Change Preferences/ Status Bar Preferences and make sure "Show max speed next to speed" - Mike

Mike, Thanks for that it has fixed the close down screen issue but that is how I have the settings for the speed warning, it worked yesterday but with only switching it off and on again it does not.

Another one to check then is Change Preferences/ Safety Preferences and make sure "Warn when driving faster than allowed" is selected - Mike

"warn when driving faster than allowed" this option turns on an audible alarm which I did not have on ?

Bear in mind not all roads have the speed limit data within the map, this will depend upon your location, some areas only have main roads covered, others have greater detail - if the data isn't available for the road you are on there will be no speed limit displayed - Mike

Thanks Mike, just as I discovered today - some roads it works others not. What is the overspeed that triggers the red indication as I had to do a few mph over to get it red today ?

Interesting point that, which would you expect to be most accurate, the speedo or the Tom Tom ?

In a straight line your gps would be more accurate.

Your speedo normally shows around 10% over. By law your speedo can never show you traveling at a slower speed than you are actually traveling they always show faster as they cant be 100% accurate.

This isnt an excuse to put your foot down though.
