Question Time Sync not BST

I've changed my TT One v3 from GMT to BST, but when I tap the Sync arrow it flips back to GMT. Is that what's meant to happen?
TIA

The nav unit will sync to the time stamp given by the GPS receiver, it uses UTC which is why you are seeing the difference, imagine if you were in Australia you would have the same time displayed as you get in the UK when you press "Sync" - thats a number of hours adrift from the local time zone - Mike

Thanks Mike -- I can understand the GPS receiver working in UTC, but I would have expected the display to show local time. If I was driving around Victoria I'd want to see Eastern Standard or Daylight time displayed, not UTC. After all that's what Windows does in my PC and laptop via the Regional Options, and TomTom has the advantage of knowing where it is.
I guess I have misunderstood the purpose of the Sync facility.

Sync sorts out the minutes, you sort out the local offset by altering the hours to your specific time zone, it would be nice if it were automatic but thats not the case - Mike
