Noise from tomtom XL V2

Hi
can anyone help, I have just taken receipt of tomtom xl v2 from total pda. On switching the unit on, i can hear a buzzing noise coming from the unit. It is very sublte but constant. (a buzzing noise?). Does this mean my unit is faulty?

Please Help

Does the noise vary in intesity if you increase the backlight level or decrease? sometimes these units produce less noise at 100% backlight - Mike

Hi Mike
Had a play with the brightness level... Strange but i move the day brigthness level to 5% and the humming noise has almost gone. When you put it to your ear you can still hear it, but otherwise the noise seems to have disappered.

Is this normal?

I've read on a few posts that by putting brightness to 100% the noise dissapears, but mine is the other way round?

Any thoughts

I would say the backlight inverter is faulty, contact the retailer to arange for a return - Mike
