Default TomTom ONE XL Reboot Cycle

Hi,

I have a TT One Xl for abput 2 months from Total PDA thats driving me bananas. Here's the problem ...

I have had the "File Access Error" flashing on screen since day 1. I updated through HOME on PC and ran the Clear Flash program available from TomTom Support. I have also removed the application and updated again etc as detailed on the Tom Tom Support.

Now the TT reboots OK, goes through the set up and asks for Language, Right Hand Use, Set Time. BUT when it asks select voice it hangs when Select button is pressed. The TT then reboots and goes through the same cycle. I cannot get any further than this.

Any ideas anyone?

Try viewing the contents of the device using Windows Explorer, locate your map folder and open it, in here will be a file "MapSettings.cfg" either cut/ paste it to your computer of simply delete it from the device - Switch the unit back on and does it let you get any further configuring the device - Mike

My TomTom One V4 has just started doing the same and is rather frustrating as I have 800 random sample points to visit this summer as only about 2 months old too.

Is the best bet to return to www.totalpda.co.uk where I bought it or try the above? Would that affect the warranty?

Have you tried the clearflash programme?

You can find the instructions here.

If that doesn't work I'd give tomtom a call on 08451610009 and they will repair or replace it under warranty for you.
