Western Europe Maps 1GB Incompatible???

I have had some problems with rebooting my TT ONE and cannot get past the setup. I tried operating the device through HOME and can operate set up until an error flashes up staing Wester Europe Maps 1 GB cannot be used with this device. I cannot get any further. I do not understand this as the maps are what came with the TT SD card from Total PDA. Perhaps they are corrupt? I am currently trying to restore from back up. Is there other advice you can offer?

What version are the maps and what version is the ONE and the software on it?

I got the TT One XL (Refurbished) in June 09 from Total PDA. Here is a link to excatly what I bought. Buy TomTom ONE XL (European Maps)

You dont get a CD with maps they're pre-installed on the SD card. Not sure where I find information on Version of TT or maps other than specification above.

Use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the device, open the folder named "Western_Europe" and locate the file western_europe.pna right click this file and select open with/ Notepad, the notepad application will then display what version of map you have on the device.

Or to find even more information about whats installed:

In the root of the device is a file named "ttgo.bif" again right click this and select Open with/ Notepad, this will give you loads of information including the Navcore and map currently active, note the map might be different to the one you get when you view the western_europe.pna file so you might want to include both in the reply and state which one was in which text file (Be selective as to which parts of the ttgo.bif file you post on a forum though as it will contain certain personal information such as your home location, device ID/ serial number, The bits in Bold Blue I have edited out and you should do the same, the bits in Bold Green are whats needed, for example:

Looking at that an RMA might be the best option, get hold of TPDA in the morning and ask them for advice unless one of the staff spot it first, something isn't quite right with the device if it isn't offering to use that map as its the correct build release for the device (no IQ Routes/ ALG/ Reality view with the 2159 release as should be the case for the One XL - Mike

I have the same problem. I updated my map with TomTom HOME. Big mistake, as I had no backup.

Is it possible to get the data which came with the device?
