TOMTOM one 3rd

Hi there all, this is my first post here and just wanted to say hi to you all...
Ok, my problem is that i have a tomtom one 3rd edition, and i can’t turn it on!!! I know that this is a BIG problem with tomtom...
I had the back of this off to disconnect the battery to see if this worked that i read on another site, with no success...
But on having the back of it off i noticed that a chip thing has fried at the bottom left of the pcb, the problem is that i don’t know what chip it is as it as fried.
I will try and post a picture of it on here and to show you which one it is...

Most probable is the feed back cable in the car charger lead has gone open circuit sending 12 Volts straight in to the device which blows the voltage regulation circuit in the unit - Not a lot can be done about it once the damage has occured, you can try giving TomTom customer support a ring on 0845 161 0009 but I doubt they will offer much assistance on a unit thats a few years old - Mike
