Question TomTom One - Speed Limits

Hi everyone
I've just got a TomTom One and wanted to know how I can get it to display the speed limit on the road I am on. I know how to get it to display my current speed.

The manual says it can be done but doesn't say how to do it!

Thanks.

It wont display the speed limits of the road.

Current speed can be shown choose change preferences then look for status bar preferences its on page 4 of 6.

Thats a shame, would have been useful. Guess I'll have to pay attention to the speed road signs!

Thanks for the help.

Strange, my TomTom One gives me the speed limits. It came on when I chose the show Current Speed option in Preferences. It doesn't show it all the time, I guess it only shows it for the roads it knows the speed limits for (Motorways for example).

I have the new TT1, and it displays both, but your actual speed is by Sat, and is not accurate, there is a differece although small, you still need to check your speedo on the dash.

Have a look here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums where you can for £2 per month or £19 per year download GB Safety Cameras which you can set up to warn you with bells, sirens, voices etc. A lot more info on the site.

I’m looking at the back of the box my new TT-One-Great-Britain (v2) came in, and it clearly states Optional warning when exceeding recorded speed limit (if available from map data)

I haven't as yet seen any option to enable this warning let alone chose a sound on the TT.

I suppose I could ask my son to test it in his 206 . . . well he’s always speeding whereas if I did it for a test chances are I’d get pulled over.

the PocketGPS speed cameras are more accurate, the speed cam positions are updated more frequently aswell. if you can pay £2 then its worth it.
