Default "No Maps Found" HELP

I am having a horrible problem, and i cant fix it, no matter how much i format or update my SD card.

Every time i flash the Firmware or even turn it on, it says "no maps found" but i keep installing maps, even putting them in the root directory, but no go.

Can ANYONE help me plz!?

What version of tomtom are you running?
What map version do you have?
Can you browse the memory card on your PDA/tomtom unit?
