Default Dutch postcodes

New (UK) member needing help here.

Recently bought a TT ONE XL europe.
It only has one map; "Western Europe"

Going to the Netherlands soon and want to plan ahead some journeys by entering the final destinations as favourites.

My problem is;

How does one enter Dutch postcodes?
It claims this can be done, but I've not figured this one out. It seems my TT will only accept UK postcodes.
With only one map on-board, there is no swapping those.
So just how can this be done?

e.g. try entering 7512GV

Do you have the Nederland.postal files in your zip folder?
If you have you will only be able to use it if the TT thinks you are in Holland, or if it thinks you are in a 3rd country like France then it will give a choice between UK and Nederland when you select the postcode option.
To fool the TT into thinking it is somewhere else you can run a demo route between 2 e.g. French locations. Then stop the demo.

I must have the postcode dBase installed because I tried that trick you suggested and it worked:
Selecting a postcode destination while 'in France' pops up with a dialog where the user must select the UK or Netherlands.

While the riddle is solved I must admit that I think TT have cocked this up. The device should always ask the destination country when navigating by postcode.

It's a bit pants that it is presumed that UK users do not travel to the Netherlands and that Dutch users do not travel to the UK.

Oh well, at least there are other ways of entering destinations and I can always wait until I disembark on yonder side of the tunnel with entering the trip destination(s).

I have raised this issue with TomTom. Perhaps the next software update will address this.

The 7 digit postcode thing seems to have been a bit of an afterthought like the itineray stuff.
Probably written by the trainee :-)
