Default Stupid TomTom Europe!

Can anyone tell me how to stop my Tom Tom Europe from taking me off the motorway and onto B roads? It's really annoying when the fastest route is selected and yet it insists on telling me to turn off onto rural roads (because it 'cuts the corner off' - so to speak)!

For example - the quickest way to my home from the midlands is via the A34 (a near motorway), then along the A303 (similar) and onto the M3. Yet when I pass Newbury on the A34 it tells me to turn off! This is sheer stupidity - it can never be quicker to go through Newbury and all the other villages on that B road! Ignoring it results in it telling me to turn round!

Help! (before I bin the thing!)

PS - try the Ozzie Osbourne voice - it'll make you chuckle. (But not with the wife in the car!)

Tap the screen, then prefs.

Under planning tell it you like motorways and main roads, and not minor/b roads

Thanks getsurfers - but unfortunately it doesn't give me that option! I can only select 'avoid motorways' and fastest route etc. There is no 'use motorways' (or similar) option.

You have to remember that many B roads are National speed limit i.e 60mph for cars, and many dual carriagways are 40 or 50mph, so the B route appears the fastest. There are a couple of places in North Kent where similar things happen.
