Hi all. Just received my new Tontom one XL.
Very disappointed to find in the POIs that my nearest swimming pool is 202 miles away!

1. Is it possible to download more relevant POIs

2. How do I convert such data to OV2 files

Hope you can help before I start my 2 hour journey for my morning swim !!!!!!

Tried your link and am very impressed. Unfortunately, can't open the files as thry are 'ov2' which windows don't recognise. Any way to convert them?

Thanks again for your help.

The OV2 files are called POI sets, and are for use on your TomTom

Just put them in your map folder, and enable them on the device

As getsurfers says just drag and drop them to the map folder on your device.

You can then start tomtom and enable them from the preference screen. There is also manage POI's to set up distance warnings.

Its the one with the name of the map you bought e.g. UK_&_IE_plus ... or Western_Europe . In it is map data e.g. cline.dat.
You can look at and edit .ov2 poi files with freebie poiedit. It can even show you where they are on google-maps.

Hi again. Gradually getting there but NOT QUITE.
I,ve downloaded a POI file which is of interest and this file was downloaded to a folder entitled ov2 files.

I opened the Tomtom file via My Computer and all files appeared under (drive K)

Itried to drag the icon from ov2 files to drop into the map folder and then ground to a halt....

Every time I attempt to drag, a black 'no entry sign @ appears and the downloaded file will not drop into the folder.

What I am doing wrong ? Hope you can help again.

Cheers.
