Question Tomtom upload

Hi forum,
I have recently purchased the Tomtom one, and tried to upload the full map of Europe. The purchase guide said that the file was to big and recommened that I did not continue to purchase. As all I really need at the moment is Spain, I tried that map and it seems to be OK, although as yet I have not downloaded due to a fault on their server.

Does anyone know how much information these can take? And can they be upgraded to increase it? The USA ones seem to have SD cards that can of course be changed for a bigger size, but this one must have the memory card inside.

Regional versions have less mem, so unless your device supports SD cards, then you will always be limited by the memory.

My question would be though, if you have just purchased (and assuming new) then why not buy the europe version from the start? It would have worked out cheaper!
