Default Tomtom One not recognised

Hi all,

Having pulled the last of my hair out, I've thankfully come across this website.

My Dad's got a Tomtom One Great Britain and wanted the map updating. Having checked, it shows as version 6.501, and the map is v660.1199.

I've thrown in the disk that came with it with Tomtom Home, which updated to v2.1. I've now plugged the tomtom into the USB, turned it on, pressed 'connect to computer', Home has opened up, I've then selected the 'Add Maps, Traffic, Voices, etc' button, selected the 'Maps' button, then it tells me to connect my tomtom device. But I have.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Am I missing something here?

Looking forward to your replies,

Kev

Sounds as though you've previously told windows to do something when it sees a mass storage device. It's done it, and in all likelyhood erased the device. I assume the device no longer works at all?

If the device still works, try another USB port and DO NOT use a USB hub!
