Default tomtom home problem

Hi there, im new to these forums and tomtom sat nav. My problem is - I have downloaded tomtom home from tomtom webite, installed it on my xp pro sp2 PC. When I connect my tomtom one ver 2 to my pc and start my tomtom, it asks if I want to connect to computer, I press yes, tomtom says wait a min and tomtom home opens up on pc. My tomtom shows as a removable drive on my pc, but when I try to do anything in tomtom home it asks me to connect my tomtom. Is there a problem with tomtom home that anyone knows about. I have tried different usb ports but still the same. I have managed to install speed cameras without using home, is it possible to do the same with updated maps or other maps as I cannot get home to recognise my tomtom one. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Matt.
