Default TomTom factory reset problem?

Has anyone seen this before please?

Have TomTom V5 on an HP Ipaq for use in the car.

Wish to clear all previous locations and addresses programed in. Factory reset function of the V5 says it will do this but, after going through the proceedure, fails to do so.

Re-booting the Ipaq makes no difference.

Can anyone throw any light on this please?
Thank you.

All this is stored in the cfg file in the map folder, as well as your favourites and other settings.

There are apps out there that can edit this file safely. If you're not bothered about loosing settings, then delete the file and TT will recreate a factory default file that you can reprogram from scratch.

Look in your maps folder on your SD card.

Thank you for your reply.

Have purchased a Card Reader and find that there are two folders for maps on the SD card. One is UK maps, the other Europe maps.

In neither folder is there a file identified as " cfg "

Am I missing something here?

Thank you.

If you have Outlook installed on your pc, it says it's an outlook data file.
