Default TT3 ipaq1940 setup question

Hi folks - just purchased kit for TT3nav with ipaq1940 and wired GPS. Installed first time expected all to work and bang PDA and GPS receiver not talking to each other. Got some IT knowledge so guess its a set up prob. First thing TT support and instructions very very scant to say the least. Discovered that need to go to GPS config and set TomTom nav gps and serial lead on COM1. Problem is don't have serial lead on COM 1 as a choice!! Tried ipaq rom update, TT3 updates gps and Nav. Still got no COM 1 choice with the receiver I need to select so still no working TTnav. Anyone come across this or got any ideas. Bought this kit cos couldn't get software for Garmin ique 3600 which was bought in US to do spoken nav. Bit of a gadget freak really!!

Is it a Haicom GPS with TT3 software if so go to:
http://www.totalpda.co.uk/forum/faq....l&titlesonly=0

If it is a TT3 cabled system not use a IR car kit it will never work due to the fact your PDA does not have a serial port it only has serial via Bluetooth.

Hi Steve,
This kit was purchased from Total PDA as a bundle - so what gives. Why does Tom Tom produce a mounting kit and wired Navigator kit for this PDA if wired GPS isn't going to work?? Also if thats the case what do I do to get a working setup - presumably return this wired kit and get a blue tooth one? Do I have to return the whole kit and caboodle including PDA?? I hope not as I like the PDA.
