TomTom 520 Text to Speech Low Battery

Hello all,
I'm a new member of Total PDA forum and hope someone can help with this question.
I have a 520 Go and when I use the text to speech facility, if the battery is not fully charged, the speech is broken and the computerised voice is distorted. This occurs whether the unit is plugged into the charger or not.
Is this common or is there a problem with my unit?
I apologise if this topic has been discussed already but I haven't been able to find it.

Hi,
I have a 520 with exact same problem FIXED ! go to tom tom support and faq for information you will need to format the flash memory then reinstall maps then after that there is a another download to fix a problem with post code entry for UK & netherlands then all will be fine apart from poor battery life !
