can any one tell me where i can get free updates for speed camera's, and up dated maps for the uk,
its for a tom tom 720 go,

Not many free updates.

You can get map updates from tomtom.
TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems

The best place to get speed camera updates is pocket gps.

They update their cameras twice a month and its £19 for a years subscription.

the other qts i have is, if i brought a tom tom rds tmc traffic receiver,
to plug straight in, would this work, or would have i have to pay a annual fee every year,

That would get you traffic reports and there are no subscriptions involved once you buy the receiver.
